Fun For All Ages!
Cotter's Aquatics Swim and Fitness run a Learn to Swim program 6 days a week, mornings and afternoons.
We have recently invested in an electronic booking and scheduling program to bring you a more, efficient, professional and organized experience at our pools.
We are now accepting Enrolments for Term 4. Please select your date range using the button found on the table. It is important to remember that your booking is not confirmed until you receive a reply email stating your confirmed lessons. If your selected class is unavailable, you may be moved to a different time, instructor, or day.
If you are a new member to Cotter's Aquatics and are unaware of how our program operates, we encourage you to enrol via the button below. We may also contact you to discuss your child/s previous swimming history to judge what 'Level' they would be best suited to.

LEARN TO SWIM LEVELS
AQUA BUBS
6-12 MONTHS OLD
Maximum of 6/8 swimmers in one class at a time. 30 minute lessons with parents in the water.
Condition baby for submersion
Develop grasp reflex (a strong grip)
Introduce verbal & manipulative patterns (correct holds and cues)
Introduce back floating with assistance
Introducing free floating with assistance
Introduce body turns & monkeys along the wall
Develop independence in shallow water
TOTS TRANSITION
12-18 MONTHS OLD
Maximum of 3 swimmers in one class at a time. 20 minute lessons.
Building on detachment (not needing mum/dad to stay in the water. This is very different in each child and is at the teacher's discretion
Increase independence
Increase free float (time/distance)
Encourage free float
Maintain a strong grip (master monkeys along the wall)
Encourage kicking (using manipulation)
Independent kicking with a kickboard
Encourage body turns
Develop entry & turn
LEVEL 1
Maximum of 3 swimmers in one class at a time. 20 minute lessons.
Improve breath control
Develop free floats, on their front and back
Develop alternating floats
Improve kicking to become independent on front and back
Improve body position
Encourage self propulsion
Introduce big arms, to and from the teacher
Ability to turn on entry
Introduce picking up submerged toys
MINI SQUAD
Maximum of 10 swimmers in one class at a time. 30-minute lessons.
Correct Freestyle Stroke for 25 meters
Correct Backstroke Stroke for 25 meters
Correct Breaststroke Stroke for 25 meters
Correct Butterfly Stroke for 25 meters
Correct Dive entries
Correct freestyle tumble turn
Correct finishes
LEVEL 2
Maximum of 6/8 swimmers in one class at a time. 30 minute lessons with parents in the water.
Introduce breathing on boards (bubble, bubble, breath & repetitions)
Develop front & back kicking
Master float, roll and swim
Understand safe habits
Introduce Backstroke arms
LEVEL 3
Maximum of 3 swimmers in one class at a time. 20 minute lessons.
Ability to perform strokes confidently
Introduce bilateral breathing
Further develop Freestyle and Backstroke
Introduce Breaststroke
Introduce Butterfly kick
Develop Breaststroke and Butterfly kick
Extend swimming distance to 25m
STROKE DEVELOPMENT
Maximum of 3 swimmers in one class at a time. 20 minute lessons.
Correct Freestyle Stroke for 10-15 meters
Correct Backstroke Stroke for 10-15 meters
Correct Breaststroke Stroke for 10-15 meters
Correct Butterfly Stroke for 10-15 meters
Correct Dive entries
Correct freestyle tumble turn
Correct finishes
